Topic: The Ball Site Fauna and Faunal Artifacts

Located near Warminster, the Ball site is well known to students of Ontario archaeology, having served for 25+ years as a WLU field school. Dating to ca. AD 1600, excavations here uncovered a Huron-Wendat village of 71 longhouses and 33 middens. The food refuse produced by the Ball villagers revealed their meat diet and also that a few animal skeletal elements were made into artifacts.

Please note: this will be our last meeting of the 2017-2018 season. Meetings will resume in September of this year.
