The Ontario Archaeological Society is formed of a parent body and a number of local chapters in various cities in Ontario. The London Chapter represents the regional interests and concerns of the archaeological community in Southwestern Ontario, by providing field activities, social events, and advocacy opportunities. The chapter has sponsored a number of research projects over the years centred on local archaeology. For those interested in the archaeology of Southern Ontario a suggested reading list has been assembled recently.

A series of monthly meetings is held on the second Thursday of each month from September to April (no December meeting). The meeting starts at eight PM and is held at the London Museum of Archaeology located at 1600 Attawandaron Road. Each meeting features a keynote speaker on a wide range of subjects relating to modern Archaeology.

The Chapter produces two publications series. A newsletter, KEWA, published eight times/issues per year, has included a large number of research articles. An index of the entire KEWA series, which began in 1976, is included here. Back Issues can be ordered from the chapter. One of the features in KEWA is a series ofSouthern Ontario Point Types which have been reproduced here to make them available to a wider audience. Another regular feature from 1980-1988 was the one page 19th Century Notes by Thomas and Ian Kenyon, which included 42 different profusely and beautifully illustrated descriptions of several different 19th Century Euro-Canadian Artifacts and Structures. An index of these is included on this website and one can purchase a special cirlox bound copy  of all the 19th Century Notes by contacting the Chapter treasurer (cjellis@uwo.ca). The chapter also runs an Occasional Publication Series which handles larger monographs and synthetical works.
